The 1% call is bold, and, although I don't actually think there's a case for it to be that low (likely neither do you), I do believe inflation is structurally low enough and the real economy’s resilience is high enough to mandate lower rates by about ~75bps.
And yes… TDS or not, Trump’s comment adds yet another twist to the already surreal world of Fed-watching. When monetary policy becomes a campaign talking point, we know we’re in for an interesting cycle.
